“How to send my kid to school in such a situation? He may start attending classes from next week,” said Mala Arora, mother of a class 5 student.
Another parent said that even teachers have suggested that students with fever and cold should stay at home. “As it is a contagious disease, I think keeping students at home is a better option. I have also stopped my child from attending classes,” said Nikhil Sahu, father of a class 9 student.
Although the number of students infected from Covid is very less, parents are worried about them. “My kid is fine, and he is attending classes regularly, but I am worried about the other students coming to classes with cold and fever. My kid may get infected,” said Ashok Kumar, father of a class 8 student.
Even several schools have also taken up initiative to help such students. “We have made special arrangements for students within school if they complain of fever or cold during the school hours. We immediately inform their parents to pick them from school,” said a schoolteacher.
Students are worried as the first term exams in many schools are to start later this month. “As offline classes have started, I have to attend on campus exams. My father is worried if I continue to be sick during the exam time also,” said class 11 student Nitin Sharma.
