and unearthed assets over Rs80 lakh so far.

Teams of

special police establishment

(SPE) Lokayukta raided the houses of Vinod Tiwari, assistant manager of a cooperative society, at Kotma in Shahdol, and his ancestral home in Kubra village. SP Lokayukta, Rewa Rajendra Verma said, “So far property worth Rs80 lakh has surfaced while investigations are still going on.”

Lokayukta sources said accused Vinod Tiwari joined the cooperative society as a salesman and had a meagre salary of around Rs2000 per month for majority of his career. With subsequent promotions, sources added, he became assistant manager and currently has a salary between Rs15,000 and Rs20,000. However, even as per initial findings, property of Rs80 lakh seems disproportionate, officials said, and investigations are likely to reveal more.
