Army called in as massive factory fire rages for hrs in Sagar
Bhopal: A massive fire broke out at a cardboard manufacturing factory in Sagar district early Sunday, forcing authorities to call in Army firefighting teams after multiple fire brigades struggled for hours to control the blaze. The fire erupted around 2.30 am, sending flames nearly 10 feet high into the air and alerting passersby, who immediately informed the police and fire brigade.Fire tenders from Makronia municipal council, Sagar municipal corporation and Shahpur Municipal Council were rushed to the site. However, due to the highly combustible nature of cardboard and waste material stored inside the factory, the flames continued to spread rapidly.Officials said more than 10 fire tenders, assisted by the Army's firefighting unit, battled the blaze for over seven hours before finally bringing it under control.Even after the main flames were extinguished, embers and burning debris continued to smoulder until around 11.30 am on Monday.
