Against 610 APO vacancies approved by cabinet, PSC advertises only 17 posts: LoP
Bhopal: Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Umang Singhar said the MP Public Service Commission (MPPSC) advertised only 17 vacancies of assistant prosecution officers (APOs) in its advertisement dated March 10, 2026, despite the state cabinet in its meeting on August 26, 2025, sanctioning 610 new posts of APOs in the state.Singhar said advertising only 17 posts despite a large number of vacancies on the post of APOs was 'betrayal' of aspirants for the post, who had been waiting for the MPPSC exam since 2021, when the exam for recruitment to the post was last held.Taking to X, Singhar said the MPPSC only advertising 17 posts of APOs after nearly 6 years of gap disappointed hundreds of aspirants who had been preparing for the exam for several years. He said it was more like shattering their dreams and pouring cold water on their aspirations. He added there was severe resentment and concern among persons preparing for the APOs post following the MPPSC advertisement. The BJP state spokesperson Dr Hitesh Bajpai, when asked for comments, said that Singhar is LOP, he holds a constitutional post and he can raise such issues with the govt and he would get answers to his queries. He said, "As far as the BJP govt in the state is concerned, it works according to the law of the land and what the MPPSC has done must be according to the norms."
