7 held for religious conversion in Raisen district

Bhopal: Raisen police arrested and produced seven persons—including two women—accused of religious conversions before court on Tuesday. All were sent to jail.
All seven have been booked under sections 3 and 5 of the Madhya Pradesh religious freedom Act 2021 at Satlapur police station.
Incident took place at Akanksha Nagar in Mandideep under Satlapur police station on February 18. A case was registered on the complaint of Narendra Thakur, 21, against the accused. Thakur in his complaint before police had accused that these people were harassing and pressurizing him for a couple of months to get his religion converted, says the FIR. On Sunday they called him to the inauguration of the house of one Munshi Nahar, there they started doing some weird prayers, so he informed some people from the right wing organizations who helped him come out of the place, says the FIR.
Sources said that police arrested all the accused and produced them before court at Gauharganj which sent the women accused to district jail while others were sent to Gauharganj sub-jail. TNN
