Bhopal: A 29-year-old property broker, died by suicide in Katara Hills on Monday after receiving news about a friend's death. Acting on information, Katara Hills police registered a case.
Police said that the deceased, Sanjay Prajapati, 29, was found hanging in his home at the Gaurishankar Residential Complex. He was rushed to AIIMS Bhopal by family members and police, where doctors declared him brought dead.
According to police, Sanjay was watching a cricket match on TV around 8:30 pm when he received a phone call. After answering the call, he suddenly began to cry. When his wife Seema asked the reason, he informed her that his close friend Krishna passed away. Concerned that their young child might get disturbed, Seema asked him not to cry in front of the child. Sanjay then went into another room.
A few minutes later, Seema found Sanjay hanging and, with the help of neighbours, brought him down and informed the police via Dial-100. An FRV team immediately transported him to AIIMS, where he was declared dead.
No suicide note was recovered from the scene. The room where the incident occurred has been sealed, and police have initiated a preliminary investigation. The friend whose death reportedly triggered Sanjay's emotional breakdown is yet to be identified, and the cause of his death remains unclear.
Police registered a case and sent the body for a post-mortem examination. Police stated that further details will emerge following the investigation, including the exact reason behind Sanjay's extreme step.
