Bhopal: More than 200 LPG cylinders of varying capacities were seized from a commercial dealer's premises in Mandideep area in Raisen district. The LPG cylinders were stored in the open, in violation of licence conditions, during an inspection late on Saturday, officials said.
District administration officials said a team inspected a commercial LPG dealership operated at Sector-C, Plot No 15 and found 85 industrial cylinders of 47.2 kg capacity kept in a truck on the premises. The cylinders were received on March 13 for supply to the security paper mill in Hoshangabad but were not dispatched and were instead kept at the agency premises. Officials said the inspection team also found 115 cylinders of 19 kg capacity and 10 cylinders of 5 kg capacity, including 5 filled and 5 empty stored out in the open rather than inside the designated godown.
They said storing cylinders in the open violated the conditions of the licence issued to the dealer. The district administration seized the 19 kg and 5 kg cylinders on the spot and registered a case, officials said. The seized cylinders were placed in the custody of the dealer and shifted to the godown, but they cannot be sold or distributed until a final order is passed by the Collector's court, officials said. The action was carried out under the directions of Collector Arun Kumar Vishwakarma by a team comprising revenue and supply department officials, along with local police. TNN
