2 drug peddlers nabbed with ganja
Bhopal: Berasia police on Monday claimed to have arrested two miscreants involved in drug peddling and seized 800 gm of ganja (Cannabis) from their possession. The seized Ganja is estimated to be worth around Rs 8,000. The accused have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Investigation officer SI Hemant Singh said that late at night, the police received a tip-off about two men selling ganja in sachets near Barri Ghat in Berasia.

Acting on the information, a police team promptly arrived at the location and rounded up the two suspects. Upon questioning, the suspects were identified as Shivcharan Jat, a resident of Mankhyai village and Virendra Singh Rajput, a resident of Kachnaria village in Berasia.
During the search, the police recovered 800 grams of ganja from the duo. Initial investigations revealed that the accused were involved in procuring ganja from suppliers and then selling it in smaller quantities. The police are currently gathering more information about the suppliers involved in the operation. Further investigations are on.
