2 attacks by ‘gangs’ in Gautam Nagar: Cars vandalised, 1 hurt
Bhopal: More than half a dozen miscreants allegedly created panic late Monday night in Gautam Nagar area. The accused also vandalised vehicles in a residential area. Gautam Nagar police have taken three people, including the main accused into custody.The incident began near PGBT College, where four accused and three of their associates tried to target a 17-year-old juvenile offender over gang rivalry. The group arrived armed with swords and other weapons. When the juvenile was not found, the enraged attackers began vandalising parked vehicles. While leaving, the attackers fired shots using a Diwali-style firecracker gun. The loud blasts caused panic as many residents initially believed actual gunfire was taking place in the streets. Police investigation revealed that the attack was sparked by a dispute over a molestation case. The accused received information that the juvenile offender had been harassing the sister of one of their friends. The girl submitted a complaint to cops, but the accused allegedly continued his actions. The juvenile involved also has a criminal background. Another violent criminal incident took place in Gautam Nagar over staring. Gulfaam, 31, who runs a tailoring shop in was brutally stabbled by accused, who included the juvenile in the first case. Two accused were arrested but the juvenile is on the run, said cops.
