BHOPAL: Twelve out of 15 officers, including the Ujjain district collector, have submitted their replies in connection with the Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta’s inquiry into a complaint alleging corruption in construction works related to Mahakal Lok Corridor.
Among those yet to file their reply are the executive director of Ujjain Smart City Ltd, said sources.
Lokayukta will hear the case on December 5.
A parallel investigation is on into a second complaint on the same project. Sources informed that the organisation has taken cognisance of the complaint and has sought response from the executive director of the Ujjain Smart City.
The Lokayukta had issued notices to 15 people, including three IAS officers, in a complaint related to alleged ‘financial irregularities’ in construction works. Some officers were accused of misusing their official position and giving financial benefits to a contractor. The Lokayukta had asked them to respond by October 28. Fourteen officers had appeared for personal hearing before the Lokayukta while collector Ujjain was on leave. They had sought 15 more days for submission.
