BANGALORE: Political cinema will make its debut at the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFF) this year. The Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy has selected nine films based on national and international politics, for the festival beginning December 15. It will showcase 179 films on various subjects.
The date of inauguration, schedule and locations are yet to be finalized, said Basavaraj, secretary, information, Kannada and culture.

South African film ‘Lucky’, which features Kannada actor and MP B Jayashree, is a highlight.
A film based on the last 10 days of Adolf Hitler, ‘Downfall’ and 1981 Tamil classic ‘Thanner Thanner’ and a Tulu film will be featured. tnn
