Bommai flew to Delhi on Friday night to take part in the conference of Chief Justices of high courts and chief ministers to be held on Saturday. Till the time of his departure from Bengaluru, no appointment with either BJP national president JP Nadda or Shah was fixed.
“I will be busy the whole of Saturday due to the conference, and hence there is no possibility of discussing cabinet expansion with party leaders,” Bommai said at Jagalur helipad in Davangere district. “Besides, I will leave for Bengaluru early on Sunday morning.” Former chief minister BS Yediyurappa, on the other hand, said: “The party will take a call with regard to cabinet reshuffle or expansion in a few days.” There are five vacancies in Bommai’s council of ministers.
