Student hits stationary truck, dies
Bengaluru: A 20-year-old student was killed after his scooter crashed into a tipper truck which had stopped for road-repair work on a Bengaluru-Mysuru expessway flyover near Kumbalgodu on Wednesday. Truck driver Raj Kumar has been arrested.Aniket Das, a resident of Rajarajeshwarinagar and from Odisha, was on his way to college when the accident happened at 9.15am. Police said Das didn’t realise the truck had stopped on the flyover and hit it from behind. He fell on the road and died of severe head injuries. In his complaint, Das’s friend Pranav N Raj alleged that road-repair labourers hadn’t put up barricades or signboards about work was under way. The truck’s tail lights were also not on, leading to the accident. tnn
