Rehabilitated families fear displacement again
Residents of Markandeya Nagar near Santi Bastwad fear that their lands will be acquired for the proposed IT park.
The residents were earlier displaced for the Markandeya project and don't want to be moved again. A high-level team of the state government on Monday visited Waghwade, which neighbours Markandeya Nagar, for the establishment of IT park.
Learning about this, some residents met DC Shalini Rajneesh to register their protest. They were pacified after the DC assured them that IT park would be established at Waghwade and not at their colonies.
