BANGALORE: It was not a sunny weekend in Bangalore as a short but heavy downpour brought down the temperature. For a minute it seemed the old Bangalore weather was back. The city recorded 3.8mm rainfall till 5.30pm and rainfall was spread across the city reducing the minimum temperate to 20.3 degree celsius. Though there was not much damage, a tree fall was reported in Basaveshwaranagar 6th main, 43rd block and Banashankari 16th main, 24th cross.
Bangalore Electricity Supply Company officials said not many areas complained of power cuts during the rain till evening. There was a bit of waterlogging in and around areas of Mysore road, SJ Park, K R Market, Cubbon Park, Cubbon road, parts of Banaswadi and Marthahalli.
An Indian Meteorological Department official said that a trough of low pressure at mean sea level led to low pressure along Maharashtra, Konkan Goa, Kerala and Karnataka coast. This resulted in rain or thundershower at many places in south interior Karnataka and a few places in north interior Karnataka.
