NEW DELHI: Prajwal Revanna, the suspended Janata Dal (Secular) leader accused of sexual abuse, is set to return to Bengaluru from Munich on May 31, according to official sources.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is prepared to arrest the 33-year-old grandson of JD(S) leader H D Deve Gowda upon his arrival at the Kempegowda International Airport.

Prajwal Revanna, who is also vying for re-election as the NDA candidate from the Hassan Lok Sabha segment, had earlier fled the country following requests from the Karnataka State Commission for Women to chief minister Siddaramaiah for an in-depth investigation. This was in light of a significant number of explicit videos surfacing, allegedly showing the MP in compromising positions with several women.

The situation escalated when two cases of sexual assault were officially registered against Revanna. In a recent turn of events, the Hassan MP issued a video message promising to return and cooperate with the SIT's investigation on May 31. This announcement came after he had cancelled his return flights from Germany twice, raising questions about his intentions.

The SIT conducted a thorough search of Prajwal's residence in Hassan, revealing some incriminating materials, although specifics of the findings have yet to be disclosed. As the city braces for his return, all eyes are on Kempegowda Airport, where law enforcement is prepared to take immediate action, marking a significant moment in this high-profile case.
