One-year-old boy crushed under truck in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A one-year-old boy died on the spot when a goods truck knocked him down in Anekal on the outskirts of the city on Thursday afternoon.


Sundaram B was playing with his elder brothers outside their makeshift shed in Guddanahalli village around 3pm. He was the third child of Balmiki and his wife, who are from Uttar Pradesh. The couple had been working in a brick factory in the city for two months.

Police said truck driver Kamal Ansari had brought bricks to a construction site and was reversing the vehicle to unload them. He did not notice Sundaram, who came under the vehicle's rear wheel. The boy died instantly.
