Tejaswini got married to
Devaraj, engineer with a private firm, six months ago. A mechanical engineering graduate, Tejaswini's office on Tindlu main road was walking distance from her home.
According to police, the incident came to light when Devaraj returned home around 6pm on Friday. "He had to break open the main door, which was locked from inside. He found Tejaswini hanging from the ceiling inside the bedroom," cops said quoting Devaraj.
Tejaswini's family has accused Devaraj of dowry harassment. "Tejaswini met Devaraj via a matrimonial website eight months ago. Devaraj belongs to Chennai and told Tejaswini he was a software engineer," her family told police.
After the families met, the marriage was scheduled for March this year. Devaraj moved to Bengaluru in April. "Devaraj began to pester Tejaswini for money, saying he wanted to invest it in a business. Tejaswini repeatedly asked him to join a company instead of taking a risk by stating a business," her family alleged. But he continued to harass her, police said quoting the family.
According to family members, Tejaswini had last spoken to them on Friday noon. "We received a call from police and neighbours saying Tejaswini has committed suicide," they said.
