Neha keen to build on gains

Bengaluru: Having rediscovered her touch with a fine win last week, seasoned Neha Tripathi will look to build on the gains when the 11th leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour gets underway at the Bangalore Golf Club here on Wednesday.
The 31-year-old, who has climbed to the third spot on the Order of Merit, will be the cynosure in the Rs 12 lakh event to be played at the shortened layout. There will be a premium on accuracy at the compact par-67, 5,570-yard course.
Neha, who ended a four-and-a-half-year drought, will look to lord over the 39-player field that also includes four amateurs. Gaurika Bishnoi, who skipped two legs following her win at Clover Greens last month, will be keen to continue from where she left off.
Winner twice this season and a former winner at the BGC, Gaurika knows what it takes to be the last one standing. Besides the two recent winners, there are quite a few in the field who have the wherewithal to go all the way.
Sneha Singh, the Order of Merit leader and twice winner this season like Gaurika, will be hoping for a turnaround this week. So too will Tvesa Malik, who has been struggling with her game in recent times.
Order of Merit: 1. Sneha Singh; 2. Seher Atwal; 3. Neha Tripathi; 4. Jasmine Shekar; 5. Khushi Khanijau.
