BENGALURU:
Namma Metro services on the purple line disrupted for close to half-an-hour after a man allegedly entered the viaduct area. After the incident, metro services were suspended between Mysuru Road station and Challaghatta. Services were suspended from 3 pm to 3.27 pm.
An official of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said, “The Operational Control Center ( OCC ) noticed illegal entry of a man on the viaduct between Jnanabharati and Pattangere. Immediately, the power supply was cut off to the track. The train services were suspended between Mysuru Road to Challaghatta on Mysuru Road as a safety precaution.”
The official said that the security team of the BMRCL is investigating the case. “It is not yet known, the purpose of trespassing on the prohibited area. The security staff are investigating the case.” After 3.30 pm, train services are operational on the entire purple line.
