Nagaratnamma gets Gubbi Veerana award

bangalore: senior company theatre actress r nagaratnamma has been selected for the gubbi veeranna award for 2001, while senior bharatanatyam guru narmada receives the natyarani shantala award. kannada and culture minister rani satish also announced, on friday, the venkatappa award for painter n s manoli and the shishunala sharief award for m prabhakar.all the awards carry cash rs 1 lakh and a bronze plaque. a committee chaired by master hiriannaiah for theatre, k muralidhar rao for dance, v baalu for art and h k narayan for music decided upon the awards.
