BANGALORE: Cycle Ravi, a rowdy and main accused in the recent murder of one Kathraguppe Linga, surrendered in the court on Monday, hoodwinking the police, who were on the look out for him.
Cycle Ravi has over 20 cases against him. On Monday afternoon, Ravi rushed to the II Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court and surrendered before magistrate Kasanappa Nayak.
Police from C K Achkut and Siddapura, where Ravi was wanted, tried to take him to their custody, but failed.
Habitual offender held
Banaswadi police have detained Tirumaran alias Raja under Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Gamblers, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Slum Grabbers Act, 1985. According to police, Raja started his criminal activities in 1996 and has 10 cases pending against him. Those include four murder cases, one kidnap case, three cases under Indian Arms Act and an extortion case.
Vehicles recovered
Tyagarajnagar police have arrested Tanvir Pasha and Mohammed Khaleel of Chamarajpet and recovered six two-wheelers and a four-wheeler, all worth over Rs 6.5 lakh.
