BANGALORE: After several launch dates, this is final and official. Bangaloreans can hop on to the Metro from October 20 and travel from Byappanahalli to MG Road.

Namma Metro, the chief minister's office has communicated this date to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) to schedule the launch.

After meeting Kamal Nath, the CM announced the date to the media in Delhi.
The release said they will also meet the Union railway minister and invite him for the launch.
Commissioner for railway safety Dinesh Kumar Singh issued the safety certification on September 23. It stipulates that public carriage for passengers on this line should be introduced within two months from the date of issue of this authorization. Otherwise, the railway administration has to approach them for revalidation.
FOR SAFE TRAVEL Metro stations will have PowerheartrAutomated External Defibrillator (AED) to protect its commuters against death from sudden cardiac arrest. Opto Circuits (India) Ltd, a manufacturer of medical equipment and interventional devices, presented its patented US FDA-listed AED to BMRC.
