bangalore: sugam sangeeth school upasana has started geetha vahini, a programme to take kannada light music to the doorstep of people and popularise kannada poets. on every first saturday of the month, a sugam sangeeth programme will be organised in houses at various localities on invitation. this saturday, it was opened by noted poet g s shivarudrappa at the house of singer shimoga subbanna.
archana udupa, medini dutt and g mohan sang nearly 20 songs of kuvempu, gss, gopalakirshna adiga, n s lakshminarayana bhatta, k s narasimhaswamy, h s venkatesha murthy and b r lakshmana rao for nearly two hours. singers c ashwath, nagara srinivasa udupa, y k muddukrishna, c r simha and garthikere raghanna were present. those interesting in organising the programme in their houses, can contact mohan on 98451-66957.
