BANGALORE: Bangaloreans couldn't have asked for more for this weekend. Whether it's the unforgettable `Hale Paatre' or the mesmerizing `Allah Ke Bandhe', Kailash Kher always has people swooning to his music and rustic voice.
Now he's on another high: his new album Yatra (nomadic souls), an exclusive international release, has reached the Top 10 in the World Music charts.

And he hopes to get to No 1 soon.
But today, Kher is geared up to enthral audiences in namma Bengaluru as part of the Bangalore Festival brought to you by The Times of India. And he's full of praise for the city's audience. "Bangaloreans get the opportunity to listen to international music as many big musicians come here first. People appreciate all kinds of music here," he says.
Having just returned from the US, after promoting his new album, he says he's still jetlagged. However, he's all set for the big concert. "I will pick up two to three tracks from my new album, which are not available in India, and definitely a few Bollywood numbers. Of course, it will include a local track. Wherever I go, I prefer to sing local tracks," he says.
But Kailash says it's difficult for him to remember lyrics, especially of regional-language songs. "I remember some of these tracks, but not all of them, as I am busy with my own music. Moreover, I have sung so many songs, it's difficult to remember all of them," he says as a matter of fact. Kailash has sung in more than 15 languages including Malayalam and Tamil.
About Bollywood music, he says: "It keeps changing. People are more liberal about experimenting."

After his Bangalore performance, he will move to Guwahati and then to Bhopal. He is also busy working on his upcoming project Allah Ke Bandhe along with Naresh and Paresh. "They are in my band Kailasa. I have written and sung this song," he says,
Any favourites from what he has sung so far? Pat comes the reply: "Every song is my favourite.''
