BENGALURU: A house owner has filed a police complaint against filmmaker Rajendra Singh Babu and his actor-son Aditya, accusing the duo of threatening him with dire consequences for demanding rent pending for seven months.

Rajendra Singh Babu and his family are living in a rented house at RMV Extension, Sadashivanagar. While Babu’s family lives on the first floor, owner of the house Prasanna Kumar resides on the ground floor.

“Babu’s family occupied the house in 2014 for a monthly rental of Rs 40,000. As per the agreement, rent would be hiked by 5% each year. However, for the past seven months, they haven’t been paying the rent. We have requested them to vacate the house, but they are refusing,” Prasanna, house owner, stated in his complaint.

Rajendra Singh Babu denies allegations
Babu, however, dismissed the allegations saying it was the owner who is creating problems. “He asked us to vacate the house without giving any notice. We approached a local court and got a stay on the issue. But he complained against us, stating that we were depositing rent into his bank account against his wish and wanted us to move out,” he said.

“We approached the court again, stating that we will pay the rent through the court instead of depositing it into the owner’s bank account. The owner knows we will vacate by 2020 and shift to our own house, but we don’t understand why he is behaving like this,” added Babu.
