BENGALURU: Returning From Wedding Reception
A drive back home turned fatal for a citybased businessman, his wife and two children, who met with an accident on Tuesday night. All four died on the spot after their Multi Utility Vehicle (MUV) rammed a parked truck near Bheemakanahalli gate,

in Hosakote. While

Kumar

owns a travel agency , Manjula was a homemaker. According to police, Kumar lost control over the car while overtaking a truck and failed to notice the parked truck. “The truck had neither rear lights nor indicators. Kumar didn't see the truck and rammed it from behind,“ Hosakote police said.

The accident occurred at 10.15pm, affecting traffic on the busy Hosakote road till Wednesday morning. Police personnel had a tough time extricating the mangled bodies from the car.

`Left wedding hall early'

According to friends and relatives, Kumar's family left the reception much earlier than the scheduled time.

“According to Kumar's plans, they should have left by 11 pm. But around 9pm, Manjula received a phone call from her friend saying that schools will be open on Wednesday,“ said Gangadhar M, a close friend of Kumar. The family was in no hurry to drive back home but Manjula forced Kumar to start early .

“The children were students of a private school in Hosakote. Manjula told Kumar she needed to get home early to finish some chores before the children went to school. So the family left at 9.45pm and met with the accident in less than 30 minutes,“ Gangadhar added.
