Heavy rain lashes Bangalore

BANGALORE: After weeks, Bangalore saw heavy rain on Monday night. Although no major damage was reported due to the unexpected downpour, many commuters were caught off-guard. Huge traffic jams were reported on all the major roads in the city, with Hosur Road, Bellary Road, Bannerghatta road clogging up, traffic control room officials said.
A fallen tree was reported from Kumara Krupa Road.
"I was stuck on Shanthinagar Double Road for more than 20 minutes. The road was flooded at one point and vehicles were moving very slowly," said Ragamayi Ram, a commuter.
