chief Pramod Muthalik went viral on social media on Wednesday, resulting in speculations that he was an active member of the Hindutva outfit. However, calls to the Sri Rama Sene chief to verify this did not elicit any response. Sene grabbed headlines in 2009 when its activists stormed into a pub and beat up young men and women. Sene said the youths were violating Indian values.


Sources in SIT probing Gauri murder case said Waghmore was present at the spot when the journalist-activist was shot outside her house here on September 5, 2017. TNN

However, Waghmore is making contradictory statements to mislead his interrogators, sources said. "He confessed to one team of interrogators that he was part of the gang that eliminated Gauri but claimed he is innocent to another team," sources said.

Waghmore's family and friends, meassnwhile, have put up a spirited defence. His childhood friend Mallanagowda Patil denied that Waghmore had gone underground for more than three months since the day of Gauri's murder.
