Fatal fight: Karnataka groom who killed bride dies; he got wedding organised in a day
A newlywed man who allegedly killed his wife during a squabble hours after they tied the knot in KGF taluk Wednesday evening, succumbed to injuries he had sustained in the fight, Thursday morning.
The duo got married at Chambarasanahalli village and later they went to the groom Naveen Kumar's uncle's home where they fought with each other and sustained grievous injuries. While Likithasri, 19, died within minutes of being attacked by her husband, the latter was rushed to Jalappa Hospital in Kolar.
According to police, Naveen, 27, a resident of Santoor village in Shantipuram mandal in Kuppam taluk, Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, had visited the house of Likithasri at Bynahalli village in KGF taluk some six months ago and had told her father Srinivas that he would marry her after getting consent from his parents. Srinivas also reportedly spoke to Likithasri who agreed to marry Naveen. Both families decided to solemnise their marriage.
As Aashada Masa, considered an inauspicious Hindu lunar month, was over, a relative of Naveen called up Srinivas on Aug 6 evening and told him the groom wanted the marriage to be performed immediately.
Later that night, Naveen also called Srinivas and told him that as there were no auspicious dates after Aug 7, the wedding should be held the next day.
With no option left, Srinivas agreed to the same and about 15-20 relatives from both sides assembled for the wedding which took place at the house of a relative of Naveen in nearby Chambarasanahalli, and the rituals were held between 5.30am and 6.30 am. The duo, later in the afternoon, fought in a room at Naveen's uncle's house in the village. A machete-wielding Naveen was seen attacking Likhitasri and she was suspected to have retaliated.
KGF DySP Panduranga said Naveen succumbed to his injuries at Jalappa Hospital around 7 am Thursday. Meanwhile, Srinivas alleged that Naveen intentionally murdered his newly married wife and later inflicted injuries on himself. Police sources said they are investigating all the angles of the incident.
Naveen was running a clothes centre at Andersonpet in KGF, while Likitha had just completed her PU, the sources said.

Supernatural angle should be investigated. Since it was a full moon day, the devil must have possessed the groom. It was definitely A Marriage made in hell ! This could be a potential plot for the next Conjuring movie.Read allPost comment
