Deputy speaker takes over

BANGALORE: Senior BJP MLA Yogish Bhat took charge as deputy speaker in the assembly on Tuesday. He was elected unopposed on Monday.
Opposition leader Siddaramaiah took exception to the ruling party going ahead with the deputy speaker's election when the House was not in order. He wanted the process to be deferred till a verdict on disqualified BJP and Independent MLAs is given by the court.
