BANGALORE: Chief minister N Dharam Singh on Sunday regretted that idealism in politics is weaning away.
Speaking at the 90th birthday celebrations of senior parliamentarian and former UN representative Mulka Govinda Reddy, Singh said there are very few politicians with Reddy's ideals in present-day politics.
"Reddy's contribution to society will serve as a role model to the youth," he said.
Union planning minister M V Rajasekharan said Reddy's pro-people and pro-poor work is a guide to not just the people of the country but to politicians as well.
Reddy's autobiography, written by K R Sandhya Reddy and M R Vishwanatha Reddy, was released on the occasion.
