BANGALORE: Nearly hundred vintage cars and motorcycles took to the roads on Sunday morning. Classic car-lovers and -owners strode out and enjoyed hitting the roads with their heritage machines. This annual event was organized by the Karnataka Vintage and Classical Car Club in association with ITC Royal Gardenia. There were at least 101 classic four-wheelers and 44 conventional motorcycles.Some old beauties include 1909 Wolseley -- the oldestone at the event. Other eye-catchers were Jaguars, Mercedes, Austins, MGS, FordJeeps, Plymouth, Daimlers, Buick, Dodge, etc. These were the tademarks ofmaharajas and industrialists of yesteryear.Then came thetwo-wheelers -- Harley Davidson, Norton, AJS, Lamrbretta, Hinkel, James, Trumph,Matchless and Royal Enfield.The theme was `Greener Bangalore,cleaner Bangalore'. The rally was from Vittal Mallya Road to Palace Road.Transport minister R Ashoka and M P Ananth Kumar flagged it off.
