MANGALORE: The Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) at Baikampady near here conducted their first ever mock fire drill on Tuesday in the presence of members of the District Crisis Group, the Panambur police and other industry members.

the fire drill demonstrated the capability of the installation was to meet any eventuality. fire tenders from nmpt and mcf also participated in the drill and nmpt ambulance transported the `injured' to the hospital. the fire drill lasted approximately 32 minutes. the review which was conducted in the presence of the district crisis group and other industry members put forward suggestions for improving the combat preparedness for any such eventualities. a.r. vijayendra, deputy chief inspector of factories, ramesh, senior inspector of factories, prof. sriniketan, krec and member of district crisis group, balakrishna, senior manager, mcf, kohale, senior manager, mrpl, subramanian, manager, ioc, b v rao, manager, hpcl, rajesh bharadwaj, chief fire officer, nmpt and the panambur police participated in the fire drill and subsequent review meeting.
