Boy dies as car hits divider on Bengaluru-Chennai expressway
Bengaluru: A 10-year-old boy was killed when the car in which he was travelling in hit a road divider near Lakshmisagara village in Malur taluk on Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway Tuesday afternoon.
The victim is Mujamil, a resident of Bengaluru. He, along with his family, was heading towards Chennai when one of the wheels of their car got disjointed and the vehicle rammed the divider. Four other passengers in the car sustained minor injuries and were rushed to SNR Hospital in Kolar.
The expressway has seen several accidents since it opened in March last year, especially along the stretch between Hoskote in Bengaluru Rural and Kolar district border. To prevent accidents, KGF police put up sign boards and also installed speed guns at several places.
