BENGALURU: A 33-year-old animator died and her friend sustained minor injuries when a hydraulic trailer belonging to SNC, a construction firm, hit their bike on Channasandra Main Road, near Whitefield, in the early hours of Sunday.
The deceased is Vaishali Patel, a resident of Channasandra and from Gujarat. She was an animator with a private company at ITPL. Her colleague Hemaraj sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Whitefield traffic police arrested trailer driver Suneel and produced him before court. The hydraulic trailer was moving in a wrong direction on a one-way road. Police seized both vehicles involved in the accident.
The accident occurred around 1.45am, when Patel was returning home from office on her colleague's bike. They were heading towards Channasandra from Hope Farm side and entered Channasandra Main Road. A hydraulic trailer belonging to SNC company, which is constructing an elevated Metro corridor on Outer Ring Road, and carrying heavy equipment for Metro work, hit their bike. Patel fell on the road, sustained severe injuries and died instantly.
Police have registered a negligence case against Suneel and the owner of SNC for not taking precaution. tnn
