According to KSNDMC data, between 8.30 am on Sunday and 8.30 am on Monday, DK Halli in Malavalli taluk of Mandya recorded the highest rainfall in the state with 188 MM rainfall. The second highest rainfall was recorded at Tavarekere, Bengaluru South Taluk, Bengaluru Urban district (175 MM)

There have been heavy rains in Bengaluru, I have spoken to the Commissioner (BBMP) and other officials. I have asked officials to depute two State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) teams to Mahdevapura and Bommanahalli zones in the city that have been worst affected, with boats and other equipment..also engineers are there.

Nagappa, a resident of Munnekolalu said the water started to enter homes at around 11pm following 3 hours of continues rainfall. The adults carrying their children started to move out in flood water fearing snakes to a safe place nearby.

He said that the ration has washed away and some families have even lost clothes.

Water supply in Bengaluru to be hit for two-days as rain submerges BWSSB pumping stations

The supply of Cauvery water to several parts of Bengaluru will be hit for the next two days as the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) pumping station at Tore Kadanahalli (TK Halli) in Malavalli taluk of Mandya district is completely submerged due to heavy rains. According to an official statement by the BWSSB, the Cauvery water supply to various parts of the city will be affected on Monday and Tuesday. Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai is also scheduled to visit the submerged pumping station on Monday afternoon according to a statement from Chief Minister’s Office.
