Wedding goes online
A wedding at a private hall on Kariyammana Agrahara Road in Yemalur on Monday, to which 400 guests were expected to turn up but only a handful came, was forced to go online. Krishna, an event manager, said: “I reached the venue at 3am and water levels were already rising. All the food went to waste, and the bride was in tears. I was stuck at the venue for two hours and walked to my house in Jalahalli Cross after water began to recede.

Water supply to Bengaluru will be hit for 2-3 days

Drinking water supply to nearly 80% of Bengaluru city will be affected over the next two or three days as Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board’s (BWSSB) Cauvery water pumping unit at Torekadanahalli (TK Halli) in Malvalli taluk in Mandya was submerged under 20 to 25 feet of flood water, rendering the machinery defunct. BWSSB officials said of the five pump sets, two are completely submerged in water that gushed into the station located about 90km from Bengaluru.
