BENGALURU: Namma Metro has sought assistance from corporates to develop and maintain median gardens and also for pier painting work under CSR initiatives.
BMRCL officials said they want to enter into MoUs with corporates to ensure that medians below Metro viaducts are maintained well. “We recently invited an expression of interest inviting corporates to sign MoU with us. Corporates have to ensure that medians are planted with ornamental plants, which are maintained and nurtured well so that there is a regular bloom. This will add to the aesthetics of the Garden City,” said a BMRCL official.
BMRCL will construct medians, which will be filled with red earth up to one feet and have safety grills. Officials said they have identified five Metro corridors for the initiative: Hosur Road (RV Road-Bommasandra), Bannerghatta Road (Dairy Circle to Gottigere), Tumakuru Road (Jalahalli to Madavara-BIEC), Outer Ring Road (Central Silk Board-KR Puram) and airport line (Benniganahalli to KIA terminal). Officials said they have already developed median gardens and pillars in some areas.
