Bengaluru horror: Woman accuses building owner of sexual harassment
BENGALURU: A 34-year-old woman, working as a construction labourer, has accused the owner of an under construction building of sexually harassing her on Dec 1.
The woman’s husband, working as a mason at the same construction site, lodged a complaint with Chikkajala police Tuesday against the owner. According to the 35-year-old complainant, residing in Rajanukunte, he was assaulted with a hollow brick by the accused for opposing his misbehaviour and he sustained an injury on his forehead.
The complainant said he and his wife reported to work around 4pm on Dec 1. Other labourers were arranging the construction materials on the site.

The building owner, aged around 40 years, went to the first floor to supervise the work. At the same time, the victim went to bring a hollow brick. The building owner allegedly held her and tried to disrobe her. She opposed him and raised an alarm. When her husband got into an argument with him, he allegedly assaulted him with the brick.
As the complainant was bleeding, the other labourers rushed him to a hospital in Rajanukunte. A senior officer said the owner is constructing a two-storey building. “We are verifying the allegations by the complainant. A notice has been served to the owner to appear for interrogation.”
