Actor Darshan, 2 others file bail petitions

Bengaluru: Ninety-one days after walking into judicial custody on the charge of murdering 34-year-old Renukaswamy from Chitradurga with 16 others, including his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda, film actor Darshan on Saturday approached a local court seeking bail. His counsel filed the bail petition with the sessions court, which adjourned the matter to Monday.Special public prosecutor P Prasanna Kumar said they would receive notice on Monday to file objections. Darshan is arraigned as accused no. 2 in the case, with his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda accused no. 1. Arrested on June 11, Darshan with others had walked into judicial custody on June 22. Meanwhile, two more suspects in the same case — Kartik alias Kappe (accused no. 15) and Nikhil Nayak (no. 17) — also filed bail petitions with the same court. Their bail orders were reserved.
