Bangalore: Sunaada Art Foundation on Saturday organized a music festival to pay tribute to Pandit Bhimsen Joshi on his being conferred the Bharat Ratna. The event held at Gayana Samaja was inaugurated by Pandit Sameer Chatterjee, Pandit Madhava Gudi and Bhimsen Joshi's brother N G Joshi. A book, `On the Other Hand', written by K Raghavendra Rao, was released.

The programme included musical concerts, audio-visual presentations of some rare recordings and images, and interviews of those who closely interacted with Panditji. A documentary was also screened.
Nagaraj Rao Havaldar, president of the foundation, told TOI: "We plan to present the recording of today's event to Panditji on his birthday on February 4 as a token of respect.''
The performers included Pandit Madhav Gudi, a disciple of Bhimsen Joshi, and Pandit Sameer Chatterjee, a tabla virtuoso residing currently in the US. N G Joshi shared some nostalgic moments spent with his illustrious brother.
