Gracing the occasion as special guest was HAL chairman N R Mohanty, who floored the gathering with his extempore speech.

He took off like the mighty MiG and landed with the beauty of a Sukhoi. The focus of his speech hovered around Indian labour and its hidden talent.

"People say they want to come to India, because our labour is cheap. And I tell them, sorry gentlemen, things have changed and it’s a different India waiting for you. Nothing is cheap here. It is a country that’s brimming with confidence. A country that’s ready to take on the world. Even our dreams aren’t cheap," Mohanty said to the non-stop applause of the select-gathering.

He told the story of HAL — a story that changed the face of Indian aviation.

A story that inspired many global aviation giants to fly into India for collaboration.

"It’s the golden era of aviation industry and we are all proud to be part of that family. Coming together has become a habit and we should share of strengths, thoughts and values to build this nation into a dreamland," Mohanty added.

Mohanty also launched the BACC’s social service activities on the occasion and presented a cheque for Hepatitis-B vaccination and other support materials to the children of Rakum School for the Blind.
