BENGALURU: A 55-year-old man and his minor son were arrested on Tuesday on charges of sexually harassing a five-year-old girl for over five months at their residence in
Chandana Layout, Sunkadakatte, west Bengaluru.
The accused are R
Nagaraju and his 16-year-old son, a I PU student. The two were arrested under IPC section 376 (
rape) and
Pocso Act, 2012. Nagaraju works as a supervisor with a stone-crushing unit and was handed over to judicial custody at Central Prison.
His son was sent to a juvenile home.
According to the girl's mother, she would leave her daughter with the accused when she went to work. "Nagaraju's wife is a close relative of mine and I'd leave my daughter at their home. Recently, we discovered my daughter was behaving strangely and when we questioned her, she said she was subjected to the harassment by Nagaraju and his son. We were in shock. We took her to Vani Vilas Hospital where doctors confirmed she has been subjected to rape," the woman stated in her complaint. tnn
