Woman gets father, brothers booked for threatening husband

: Daunted with the alleged threats of her own father and brothers, a 24-year-old woman, who had eloped eight months ago, approached police for the protection of her man.


The woman, a resident of Mohammad Wasil locality in Pilibhit city, urged superintendent of police, Monoj Kumar Sonkar, to protect her husband from her own father and brothers. The woman alleges that her family was miffed with her after she eloped with the man she loves and they have been threatening to kill her husband ever since. She says that her family members must be held accountable if anything untoward happens to her husband.

An FIR was lodged into the matter, on Wednesday, against the woman’s father, Nafis Ahmad, her uncle Abrar Ahmad, and her brothers — Atiq and Anis — under Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC, SHO, Braj Kishor Mishra told TOI.
