‘Vidyanjali scheme’ to commence in 5 government schools in district
Bareilly: Five government schools have been shortlisted by the district education department for human resource and development (HRD) ministry’s recently-launched, Vidyanjali, school volunteer program. Deputy Basic Shiksa Adhikari, DL Gupta, said, “Five schools, fulfilling basic requirements, including internet facility, school building with safe and secure infrastructure and toilets and few others have been chosen for the pilot project in the district.”The schools that have been chosen are: Primary School Laukhara (Kyara block), Bithri Chainpur Primary School (Bhartol), Bareilly Primary School (Baljati-1), Bareilly Junior High School (Koharapeer) and Kyara Junior High School (Laukhara).

The aim of the scheme to run, under the aegis of Sarv Shiksha Abhyaan (SSA), is to enhance the involvement of the community as well as private sector in the functioning of government schools across the country.
Confirming reports Anil Chaubey, assistant block resource co-ordinator and member of state resource group under SSA said, “Under the scheme noted people from various fields can volunteer in government school. These may any one from retired government officials to home makers (at least high school pass), who want to serve the society by imparting education to schoolchildren by sharing their expertise in any area.”
As per officials around 2,000 schools have been chosen across the nation for the scheme that will be initiated Class I to Class VII in government schools, said Chaubey.
