BAREILLY

: Two persons, one among them a student, were burnt to death as the bike they were riding collided with a speeding tractor coming from the opposite direction and the petrol in the bike burst into flames. The incident happened near

Faridpur

road on Friday night. The driver of the tractor is absconding and police are conducting raids to nab him.

The deceased, who were declared brought dead at a hospital, have been identified as Arun Kumar (21), a class 11 student, and his father-in-law

Jitesh

Kumar Singh (40). Station house officer of Faridpur police station, Rajesh Singh said, “We have seized the tractor and are conducting raids to nab the accused driver. Following a complaint filed by the younger brother of Jitesh, we have lodged an FIR under section 279 (rash driving), 304A (causing death by negligence) and 427 (mischief causing damage to an amount over Rs 50) of the IPC against the accused, who is still at large.”

and had got married only last month. On Friday afternoon, he had gone to Bareilly with his father-in-law Jitesh, a farmer, to purchase school books and medicines. They were returning at around 9:30 pm when they were hit by the tractor and killed.
