Teenager booked for sexually harassing 4yo girl

Pilibhit: A 14-year-old boy from a village under the Pilibhit Kotwali police station was charged on Friday evening for allegedly sexually harassing a 4-year-old girl living in his immediate neighborhood.The incident occurred around 7.30pm on Thursday while the girl was playing in her courtyard. The accused entered the girl's house and lured her to the roof under a pretext, where he sexually harassed her.Upon hearing her screams, the girl's father rushed to the roof and found the teenager sexually harassing her. Following a written complaint filed by him, police registered an FIR. He said that their families shared friendly relations and that the boy was a frequent visitor to their home.Local SHO said that the FIR was lodged under section 74 of the BNS, pertaining to criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty, in addition to sections 9 and 10 of the Pocso Act (aggravated sexual assault). A ‘notice of appearance' under section 35 of the BNSS has been served to the accused's father in connection with the case.
