Police bust illegal arms factory, accused held

BAREILLY: The police team busted an

illegal arms factory

at Qutubpur village under Meerganj police station area on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. After arresting the accused, police seized a huge cache of illegal weapons and other equipment from the spot. An FIR has been filed and the accused has been sent to the jail.


Superintendent of police (SP rural), Sansar Singh said, “Accused was identified as Tara Chandra, 35, resident of Qutubpur village under Meerganj police station area. He worked as a labourer during the day and made illegal arms at his house at night. Acting on a tip off, the police team rushed to the accused’s house.”

, 10 full assembled .315 bore countrymade pistols and four unfinished countrymade pistols, trigger springs, cartridge cases, cylinders, screws, shafts, barrels, side-plate frames and many more tools from the accused’s custody. “We have started the investigation in this case and we are making a list of the gangs involved in such cases. An FIR has been filed against the accused under the Arms Act and under sections 420 (cheating), 461 (Dishonestly breaking open receptacle containing property), 462 (Punishment for same offence when committed by person entrusted with custody) of IPC.
