RAMPUR
: A day after Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA
Azam Khan was granted bail in a case related to the illegal occupation of enemy property, a special court on Wednesday issued non-bailable warrants against his son SP MLA from Suar, Abdullah Azam, and his wife Tanzeen Fatima here after rejecting their applications for exemption from appearance in a fake birth certificate case against the legislator. The warrant was issued after the two failed to appear for the hearing in the special court for MPs and MLAs.
Additional prosecution officer
Neeraj Kumar told TOI, “The court has cancelled the exemption applications presented by the counsels of Abdullah
Azam
and Tanzeen Fatima and issued non-bailable warrants against them for their continuous absence before the court during the case’s trial.” The court fixed May 16 as the next date of hearing, Kumar said, failing which the duo would be arrested by the district police. The case relates to a “fake birth certificate” for Abdullah in which an FIR was filed by the
BJP leader Akash Saxena.
